Dr. Nitin Patel

Dr. Nitin Patel is a highly renowned and accomplished eye surgeon who has been performing eye surgery since the 1980’s and has over 30 years of experience in ophthalmology. He is the founder and medical director of Aashirwad Eye Hospital.

He completed his MBBS from Belgaum followed by post graduation in ophthalmology (MS) from Manipal Hospital, Karnataka. He then went on to work at Rotary Eye Institute in Navsari, Gujarat for 9 years before establishing Aashirwad Eye Hospital in 1995.

He was amongst the first surgeons in South Gujarat to be trained in phacoemulsification cataract surgery and has trained other eye surgeons.  His extensive training, experience, expertise, belief in innovation and constant endeavour to push boundaries has made him a mentor and source of inspiration to many young ophthalmologists 

He has participated in and attended several conferences at national and international level and has performed live surgeries at these conferences. As an eye specialist, he is passionate about general and paediatric ophthalmology and receives referrals for complicated cases and cataract surgeries.

Over the years, Dr. Patel has established a practice that adheres to his dreams and goals; which is to fulfil his goal of helping and caring for people with eye related issues and giving back to his community. He regularly conducts eye camps in villages across South Gujarat as well as performs free of cost surgeries at Aashirwad eye for the impoverished.

He believes in the concept of community ophthalmology ensuring a holistic approach to eye care which includes preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative approaches. He feels that it is important that his patients understand their diagnosis and how their vision will improve.
